Previously unknown silver matchsafe made by the Philadelphia silversmiths Leonard & Wilson (L&W cartouche on inner lid). Leonard also cut medals dies for the 1844 through 1852 campaigns, including a medal for the 1848 campaign with a bust of Taylor similar to the one on this matchsafe.
